Jr. to Mid-Level Designer, Culver City

We are looking for a designer to join our award-winning, growing interactive studio in Culver City, CA. Sisu (www.sisumedia.com) is a small, focused group of talented individuals. We deliver effective, intelligent design and technology solutions for webtop and mobile. Our clients range from the Fortune 100 to start-ups, and from media and entertainment industries to emerging technology. The ideal candidate for this role is a junior or mid-level designer who is passionate about design and interactive, loves to learn, and nails the details. Our preference is for recent grads or those with a few years under their belt. We’d like to see course work, internships or live projects that demonstrate an understanding of effective design for webtop and mobile. A big plus (but not requirement) is a hands-on ability to build via CSS and HTML5. While we are looking for independent thinkers and innovators, team members should be able to follow art direction well. This will be a great learning experience: you will be working with our small team as well as our pool of ace contractors. You will get the opportunity to design and produce best-of-breed design solutions for a great set of clients, and you will get to see how a successful design studio operates. The kind of work you will be doing:

  • Create your own unique directional design comps for clients
  • Iterate design and concepts
  • Continued extension and production of existing projects
  • Participate in group concepting and brainstorming sessions

Desired Skills & Experience

Design or Bachelors Degree preferred and up to 5 years of web and/or mobile design, as well as:

  • Extensive experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Experience designing websites for multiple devices (desktop, mobile, and tablet)
  • Ability to conceptualize and come up with creative ideas and solutions to design challenges
  • A strong understanding of information architecture and the ability to transform wireframes into designs
  • Ability to create innovative design solutions using strong typographic and layout skills
  • Familiarity with modern production techniques
  • Time management skills (you will be working on multiple projects at once)
  • Ability to collaborate with other designers, product managers and web developers

Extra credit is awarded if you have experience with or love of:

  • The rest of the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Front-end development (HTML 5/CSS/Javascript)
  • 3D or motion/animation
  • Industry innovations/trends
