Junior Visual Designer, Los Angeles

City of Hope’s award winning in-house creative services department is looking for a full-time Junior Visual Designer. The ideal candidate understands the meaning of collaboration, is highly creative, and has a passion for graphic design. They will have a solid understanding of information graphics, production, layout, typography and basic design principles. They must be able to work with a team, take direction and capable of producing high-end work for a variety of client needs.

We are seeking a Junior Visual Designer with a passion for telling stories visually. Someone with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and has an aptitude and interest in technology. This position will primarily involve print and digital projects such as: infographics aka “data viz”, event and marketing collateral and some web components.

Minimum requirements:

  • 4 year Degree in Graphic or Communication Design
  • 2 years experience working at a design firm, ad agency or in-house corporate creative department
  • Demonstrated ability to translate data into information graphic
  • Great communication skills: visual, spoken and written
  • Design software: Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver etc.
